We went to Austin back in 2015 and it is still lingers as one of our favorite towns. We had such a blast in just a short amount of time! You can read about our full road trip story on our Blog Post. Since this place holds such a special spot in our hearts we wanted to write a 48 hour, "can't miss" guide to your visit so you don't miss a thing in the Capital, Live Music City in the heart of Texas! 

We have loved all our stops on this Texas/Tennessee road trip. However, we can honestly say that Austin is definitely at the top of the list. It was a wonderful way to end our two week road trip. Filled with great food, vibrant energy and beautiful scenery, Austin left us wanting more of this Capital, Texan city.
We had very limited time in this musical, food inspired town. So, we had to make the most of it by making sure we were on a tight schedule that would ensure we saw everything we wanted to see in such a short period of time. 

1. See the Bat's on the Congress Avenue Bridge: 

One of the things we were most excited about on our trip, aside from the many brilliant cities that we were able to embrace, was the driving itself. There's something enchanting about driving along a new road. Especially one lined with beautiful scenery. Which is why when we were planning our route from San Antonio to Austin we were excited to have the opportunity to really take in some magnificent Texas landscape.  

This post will really just tell you about the journey we chose to take from San Antonio to Austin, TX. Our goal was to turn what was a relatively short journey into an extended adventure that really captured some of the scenery in the area, as well as some of the towns that wouldn't typically be on the list if not prioritized.

If you find yourself in Texas with time to spare and a car filled with gas I would highly recommend just getting in and driving. It was truly a fun filled, beautiful adventure! 

The next stop on our road trip venture was all the way in the great state of TEXAS! This was probably one of my most anticipated stops. My younger sister had been in Texas for weeks and we were finally going to visit! So, not only do I love a good road trip, but it begins to exceed excitement when you include family too! My entire family had made the journey (by plane) to San Antonio and we were all about to be in a NEW place at the same time. My jitters were filled with thrill and joy. Plus, I was pretty excited about seeing my sister for the first time in months.  ​
