The Champagne is gone, streamers are packed and Fireworks have sounded. It is officially a New Year and the time of reflection and remembering has set in. What a year 2017 was! We have chosen "Tenacious Euphoria" as our descriptive phrase for 2017 and let me tell you why. It was a year that challenged and strengthened us in many ways, while blessing us with many beautiful moments and memories scattered throughout just when we started to need it. Our adventures for this year weren't as planned as previous years and yet we still managed to see an abundance of new places and have wonderful experiences that will follow us forever. Take a glimpse at our amazing 2017 adventures through this (not so brief) photo essay. Within the first week of 2017 we had road-tripped throughout most of the state of Virginia! We started on the coast in Virginia Beach, took a criminal break in Historic Williamsburg and made time to hit the slopes of Massanutten. In May, Jo had the opportunity to travel a tad further South to the Island of Roatan, Honduras. He was there for work, but as you can see the view made it hard to want to stay on task. An annual favorite trip we take is our Anniversary adventure. This year we headed further South to the Island of Seabrook right outside of Charleston, South Carolina. We had a romantic, relaxing long weekend that left us dreaming of permanently staying in this dreamy Utopia. We are always extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to spend some quality time in the mountains of North Carolina, one of our favorite places! We headed over to Lake Lure, The Grove Park Inn, The Parkway, Boone, Blowing Rock, Craggy Gardens, Green Mountain, and even found a pretty impressive waterfall at Crabtree Falls. Thanks to a work project, Jo and I were able to spend a couple of days learning to appreciate the Queen City of Charlotte, NC. We checked out the Billy Graham Library, Amelie's Bakery, some of the awesome Coffee stops around town and even the hip, up and coming neighborhoods near downtown. Jo had the amazing opportunity to travel with some encouraging friends from our Church to the Czech Republic. This has become one of his favorite trips of the year. In October, we headed South once again to attend a Wedding in Atlanta and we decided to travel a little further to experience some more southern charm in the historic city of Savannah. Another one of our favorite adventures of the year was taking a road trip through California. The first stop in our little red Hyundai was San Francisco! After cruising the PCH for a couple of hours we landed in Carmel and Big Sur for the evening. We switched up one spectacular view for another, Sequoia National Park did not disappoint! We left Sequoia and headed to Los Angeles! A ideal way to celebrate our time in California. We ended our year with family and friends while taking some date nights to ring in the season together! Images of the year.... What A Year It Has Been....
Welcome 2018!
