In honor of National Wine Day I thought I would share two wonderful Vineyards in Italia that you MUST check out if you ever get the chance.
This first choice of National Wine Day Vineyards is in the heart of the Chianti region in Tuscany. Locally and family owned, you will feel like friends before you finish your last sip of wine.
Silvano does an EXCELLENT Wine Tasting tour that lasts approximately an hour that also includes a first hand look at their Balsamic and Olive Oils which are toppings over some incredible treats (some of which you wouldn't even imagine).
Rita, an amazing cook remains busy by hosting a 6-7 hour cooking class. The class allows you to get a true, hands on experience in cooking and smelling some of the tastes of Tuscany.
As if the Wine, the Food, and the authentic Italian scenery wasn't enough, this establishment helps to support needy families in Kenya. They are truly an incredible couple and Tenuta Casanova is truly an incredible experience.
Check out their website. You can order online and read all about their establishment and what is happening in Chianit.
Good Wine, Good Food, Great Atmosphere!
Cantina Abbadia Ardenga
The second ultimate Italian Vineyard to honor on this National Day of Wine is located in the heart of Montalcino. Talk about a walk into the past! Wow! It was fabulous! If you're looking for Classico and good wine intertwined into family and heart then, Cantina Abbadia Ardenga is the place for you!
Mario himself gave us a personal tour of his Winery which has been savored by their family for years and years. After tasting a few grapes, and checking out the drying house that overlooked magnificent scenery, he took us into the cellar where we tasted a wonderful selection of Italians finest. The Brunello's were truly a delight to swish and enjoy over lovely conversation about Italian history. As if that wasn't good enough, we even got to taste some of Mario's Birthday Wine created specially for this amazing mans 80th Birthday.
If you find yourself in the Montalcino region you MUST detour to this quaint, beautifully kept and aged Vineyard.
