July 4th is certainly one of those great days of the year! It's filled with the excitement of family, friends, grilling, warm scenery, and of course highly anticipated fireworks displays that every youngster (and let's admit it, adults alike) in America, find themselves marveling at as the day rolls to an end. With so much excitement surrounding the day it sometimes hard to believe that more times than not many of us find ourselves saying "what do you want to do this year?" Here is a list we put together of optional things that you and your loved ones can do to highlight this monumental day in our country's history.

This post combines arguably two of my MOST favorite things. 1) Jo and I's highly anticipated annual wedding anniversary long weekend getaway and 2) the magically unique place of Seabrook Island, South Carolina. I simply cannot put into words how much I look forward to the dream-like and romance-filled time that surrounds Memorial day weekend. This year marked that we had made it to the big THREE! It seems like just yesterday we made our vows, exchanged rings and embraced as husband and wife under the scenic live oaks at a family home in Beaufort, North Carolina (you can check out the full wedding post here).
We went to Austin back in 2015 and it is still lingers as one of our favorite towns. We had such a blast in just a short amount of time! You can read about our full road trip story on our Blog Post. Since this place holds such a special spot in our hearts we wanted to write a 48 hour, "can't miss" guide to your visit so you don't miss a thing in the Capital, Live Music City in the heart of Texas!
Just a few weeks ago (wow has it really been that long already?) we were flying back to the States after an incredibly moving week in the Bahamas. We spent a week volunteering at a wonderful ministry called Camp Bahamas on the island of Eleuthera.
We love to board a plane and take off through the clouds to some foreign or unfamiliar land. But, we especially love to load up the car with our personal belongings, turn on the radio, roll down the windows and hit the open highway! In the future we would love to do this even more!
It allows us to freely pack and accumulate as much stuff as we want, see hidden wonders that we wouldn't necessarily get the opportunity to if we were dependent upon public transportation and travel at our own pace, making last minute decisions, stopping for that sudden picture op and stopping to check out something local if we wish. We came across this scene on our most recent trip to London (check our the full blog post here) and found it too good not to share.
Take a glimpse into the ideal English village of Lulworth Cove. Filled with quaint history, crystal clear waters, stunning vistas, hiking, dining, and beach-going this town is worth the visit in every way.
This week's capture comes to you from the street of streets in Memphis Tennessee. It is an icon of the blues and of southern nightlife and is well worthy of a spot on any American road trip bucket list. For more about the town and its sites check out the following two posts.
They say that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we couldn't agree more! So, we compiled a list of a few of our favorite, hometown breakfast spots in Raleigh, NC.
The complete travel guide for catching all that you can in the capital city in 48 hours. When to go, how to get there, how to get around, what to do, where to eat, and where to stay.
